Bribie in for scorching spring heatwave

Bribie Island is in for a heatwave this week, with temperatures tipped to gradually climb as the week ends and remain high until early next week.

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting temperatures will peak in Queensland’s south east corner on Saturday, with a summer-like high of 34 degrees tipped in Brisbane and minimum temperatures not forecast to drop much below 20 degrees.

Temperatures are predicted to rise due to a large high-pressure system moving east across the country from Western Australia.
