WATCH: Wild weather hits Bribie Island Jetty

Abnormally high tides will be experienced today along the coast, with water levels expected to rise above the highest tide of the year on the high tide.

Heavy rainfall is forecast to continue affecting catchments between Rockhampton and the NSW border.

Widespread rainfall totals of 200-300 mm are forecast for Friday and Saturday, with locally higher rainfall likely. The heaviest rainfall is expected to fall within coastal catchments. A severe weather warning and tropical cyclone advice are current.
