A possible sighting of two missing teenage girls has given fresh hope to police who have been searching for the pair since September.
Police believe the missing 13-year-old twin sisters may be on Bribie Island, Queensland after a possible sighting on Friday. They have known links to the island.
Queensland police are appealing for public assistance to help locate the pair.
Investigations by police indicate that the girls – who have been missing from the Kingaroy area since September 8 – have been in contact with extended family during this time.
The girls also have ties in the Cairns area and in the northern Brisbane suburb of Kallangur.
The girls, who are identical twins, are described as having a tanned complexion, with a slim build, approximately 160cms tall with sandy coloured hair and green eyes.
