Jet ski ride for cancer research

A distance of 1,600km of water will be travelled by jet skiers in an aim to fundraise for Cancer Council Queensland.

A group of 5 jet skiers and 6 support crew will embark on an epic journey and ride from the Gold Coast to Townsville, stopping at various locations including Bribie Island along the way. The group includes four ex-servicemen.

The event will take place on Friday 1 May leaving Southport Spit on the Gold Coast and will arrive in Townsville on May 12.

“One in every three Australian’s are affected by cancer, almost everyone knows someone, a family member, friend or neighbour, whose life has been affected by cancer,” Event organiser Brendan Guy told ourbribie.com.

“I lost my wife to cancer in 2006, this devastated my three boys and I.”

“Fiona was just 36 years old.” Brendan said.

The Jet Ski Ride for a Cure group will arrive at Brennan Park, Bongaree Bribie Island on Friday 1 May at 1pm. Everyone is welcome to come say g’day.

Donations to Jet Ski for a Cure can be made via this website, or you can donate directly to the group on the day.
